Talk Descriptions
Talk description — short
You made the case. The numbers were undeniable. Everyone in the room agreed — and then nothing changed.
Stephanie Judd spent ten years working out why, starting with a $31.7 million recommendation that a boardroom called brilliant and never touched. Her answer: understanding lives in the head and produces agreement, and only experience gets people to move. Through a diving board, a boardroom, and a warehouse full of light bulbs, she hands audiences the move that closes the gap — scenes, then summary — and the craft to actually pull it off.

Host introduction
Three versions. Pick one! All three end on her name.
Pronunciation: Judd rhymes with mud.
Prefer to write your own? Wonderful — just let Stephanie know in advance so she can adjust her opening.
Version A — Standard, 60 seconds (most rooms — the default)
Our next speaker has spent ten years studying a problem that I'm fairly confident is in this room right now.
Here it is. You do the work. You build the case. You walk into the meeting, you make the argument — and everyone agrees with you.
And then nothing happens.
Stephanie Judd found $31.7 million in savings for a retail chain as a grad student. Five executives told her it was brilliant. Nothing happened. She has spent the decade since figuring out why, and — more usefully — what to do about it.
She's the Managing Partner of Wolf & Heron. More than three and a half thousand people have earned her Influential Storyteller certification. She's worked with teams at Google and Pfizer, she was taught to dive by an Olympic gold medalist, and she once quit a very good consulting job to go learn the tango in Buenos Aires.
Please help me welcome — Stephanie Judd.

Version B — Short, 30 seconds (tight agendas, multi-speaker days, panels)
You've had this happen. You make the case, the numbers are good, everyone in the room agrees with you — and then nothing changes.
Our next speaker has spent ten years on exactly that problem. She's the Managing Partner of Wolf & Heron, more than three thousand five hundred people have earned her Influential Storyteller certification, and she's about to explain why being right was never going to be enough.
Please welcome Stephanie Judd.

Version C — Straight, no humour, 45 seconds (clinical, scientific, formal executive)
Stephanie Judd is the Managing Partner of Wolf & Heron, a leadership communication firm she co-founded in 2017. She holds an MBA and an MS from the Erb Institute at the University of Michigan, and her writing on leadership communication has appeared in Forbes.
More than 5,000 professionals have earned her Influential Storyteller certification, and 97% of participants rate her programs as excellent. She works with product, research and executive teams at organisations including Google and Pfizer.
Her subject this morning is the gap between a finding that is correct and a finding that changes what people do — and what closes it.
Please welcome Stephanie Judd.

Tech requirements
Short list, and I mean it.
- A lavalier or headset mic. Hands-free — I move, and a good chunk of this talk happens in my body rather than behind a podium.
- A handheld mic for the room, if you have one. There are two moments where I take an answer from the audience, and they land much better when people can hear each other.
- No slides. No projector, no clicker, no confidence monitor, no AV tech on standby. I don't use them.
- No podium, please. If there's one on stage and it can't move, that's fine — I just won't be behind it.
That's the whole rider. No green room requirements, no specific water temperature, no bowl of anything with the brown ones removed.
Logistics
- I'll be there the day before for anything before noon, and I'd like fifteen minutes on the stage before doors to check sound and sightlines.
- I hit my time. If you need forty-five and the schedule slips to thirty-eight, tell me and I'll deliver thirty-eight.
- Happy to do a pre-event call with you, and a separate one with a few audience members — that's where the customisation comes from.
- I'll stay after to talk to people. Book me somewhere I can do that.
Travel & Accommodations
I fly out of Denver International Airport (DEN).
- Domestic US: $1,000 plus hotel
- International: $1,500—$3,000 plus hotel.
